Your First Visit: What to Expect

You don't need to understand Neurosomatic Therapy before your first visit. We'll listen to your concerns, assess how your body stands and moves, and explain how our findings guide your care.

What happens during my first appointment?

  1. Time to understand your concerns

We discuss your symptoms, relevant injuries, previous treatments, and what you want to get back to doing. Your history helps us understand how your concerns developed and where to focus our assessment.

  2. A detailed assessment

We evaluate your posture, walking, and movement to identify imbalances and ways your body may be compensating, such as shifting weight or overworking certain muscles.

  3. Addressing the first obstacles to improvement

When appropriate, we begin addressing key restrictions or compensations that may make it harder for your body to respond to treatment. The amount of corrective work during this visit depends on your history and assessment findings.

  4. A clear plan for moving forward

We explain our findings, outline treatment priorities, and give you an estimated number of visits. In our experience, patients typically need approximately 10-12 sessions to address their primary concerns, although individual needs and results vary.

Common questions before you book

What is Neurosomatic Therapy, in plain language?

Neurosomatic Therapy combines a detailed assessment with hands-on work on muscles and connective tissue. Your symptoms, posture, and movement guide where we work and which techniques we use.

Why assess areas away from where I hurt?

Different parts of your body share the work of supporting you and helping you move. A restriction in one area can increase the demands on another. Looking beyond the painful spot helps us understand those relationships.

Will I receive treatment during my first visit?

The first appointment focuses on understanding your concerns and completing a thorough assessment. Depending on what we find and the time available, we may also begin corrective work to help your body respond to future treatment. A full treatment session is not guaranteed during the initial visit.

How many appointments will I need?

In our experience, patients typically need approximately 10-12 sessions to address their primary concerns. Your recommendation will depend on your history, assessment findings, and response to care. We reassess your progress and adjust the plan as needed. Individual needs and results vary.

What does the initial appointment cost?

The initial appointment is $400 and includes your history review, detailed assessment, and personalized care recommendations.
